TL:DR

Begonia gironellae is a Philipine rhizomatous type species Begonia. It was once considered to be a form of Begonia cleopatrae; due to similar appearances and locality (Northern Palawan), in the Philippines. Leaves are variegated widely oval in shape with a hairy stem. It can be acclimatized to various climates with time but tends to miniaturize when kept in a terrarium.

Description

Description From orbicular to rhomboidal leaf, leaves are waxy and smooth on the surface, has moderate hairs on the petioele and some parts of the rhizome. Leaves are variegated and mostly widely ovate.
Male Flower From June to November flowering season. Pink generally, two tepals are club shaped, while other two are orbicular.
Female Flower Tepals are generally pink, ovary has a tall top wing while bottom wings are almost indiscernable
Plant Hardiness Can be adapted to Ambient culture in tropical to subtropical countries. This plant grows 3x bigger when grown in Ambient Culture, will become dwarf when grown in terrarium.
