Begonia gironellae is a Philipine rhizomatous type species Begonia. It was once considered to be a form of Begonia cleopatrae; due to similar appearances and locality (Northern Palawan), in the Philippines. Leaves are variegated widely oval in shape with a hairy stem. It can be acclimatized to various climates with time but tends to miniaturize when kept in a terrarium.

Description | From orbicular to rhomboidal leaf, leaves are waxy and smooth on the surface, has moderate hairs on the petioele and some parts of the rhizome. Leaves are variegated and mostly widely ovate. |
