A hybrid with dark red/black leaf with dots and edging ranging in color from bright white to pale yellow. It requires higher temperatures (16-27C) and humidity (>60%). It can resemble B. darthvaderiana x chlorosticta as B. malachosticta and B. chlorosticta are closely related to one another. (note: as this is not a cultivar, individual plants are likely to show variation)
