Begonia cleopatrae is a rhizomatous species from Philippines. It has small, oval, leathery chocolate brown leaves with a light green area along the main vein and along the leaf margin. The back of the leaf is red. It prefers warmer temperatures 10 to 35C and humidity (>60%). It propagates readily from leaves or leaf sections.
